Critical thinking involves identifying, evaluating, and constructing arguments.Critical thinking makes use of many procedures. These procedures include asking questions, making judgments, and identifying assumptions. ~ Michael Covel

 

Moving toward the Conceptual Age requires a shift in education in four different domains:

 

INTELLIGENCE

  • GLCEs
  • Processing Information in order to Problem Solve
  • Working interactively
  • Utilizing Multiple Intelligences

 

INSTRUCTION

  • Teachers as "guides"
  • Utilizing multiples instructional strategies
  • Designing curriculum
  • Teaming/collaboration between teachers

 

CURRICULUM

  • Based on processing and thinking about information
  • Cross-Curricular
  • Concept/Issue/Theme Based
  • Multiple Sources of Information

 

ASSESSMENT

  • Application of knowledge
  • Process and Product
  • Performance
